The effects of climate change continue to drastically impact the lives of many, not only here in the Philippines but also around the globe. One of the more visible effect of climate change is the increase in number and frequency of extreme weather conditions, the latest example of which is the supertyphoon Haiyan, known as Yolanda here in the Philippines, which hit the Visayas region of the country, particularly Leyte.
One would be duly alarmed with such occurrences and it’s about time that something has to be done to address this worsening situation.
This is where the partnership between the Climate Change Commission and Eagle Broadcasting Corporation steps in.
The two organization signed a Memorandum of Agreement last December 4, 2014 by their respective officials: Vice-Chairperson and Executive Director, Secretary Mary Ann Lucille L. Sering of Climate Change Commission and EBC President Jorge A. Cabacungan.
And from this partnership, a new television program is born, “Klima ng Pagbabago”.
Bringing together the expertise of the CCC as the lead policy-making body of the government relating to climate change, and the broadcasting and technical capability of EBC, “Klima ng Pagbabago” is an hour-long, weekly TV program that aims to raise the public’s consciousness regarding climate change.
With its brand-new program, EBC and CCC aims to foster a climate of change, for a better future for the next generation of Filipino people.
