' Japan Foundation: Bringing Japanese Culture To Our Community
Japan MOU(1)

When we speak of Japan, the top three things that usually come to mind are sushi, samurai and anime. These elements of Japanese culture have reached iconic status, embedding themselves into the global pop psyche.

But Japanese culture, with its rich history and diverse aspects, is much more than that!

One of the missions of Japan Foundation Manila is to raise the our awareness of other aspects of Japanese culture.

In celebration of the Philippines-Japan Friendship Month which was held last July 2013, Japan Foundation Manila entered into a partnership with Eagle Broadcasting Corporation,

Acknowledging EBC’s broadcast capability, Japan Foundation Manila, headed by Director Takatori Shuji signed a memorandum of agreement with Eagle Broadcasting Corporation, represented by President Jorge A. Cabacungan, to help them reach out to a larger audience, in particular, EBC’ steadfast community of viewers.

Japan Foundation Manila held its annual “Eiga Sai”, a film festival showcasing films that are representative of the Japanese culture.

Providing much needed media-coverage, EBC made sure that “Eiga Sai” reached the audience that it deserved, doing its small part in enriching the cultural ties between the two countries.

This will serve as an auspicious beginning for a more promising relationship between Japan Foundation Manila and Eagle Broadcasting Corporation.
